
The Customer Service Representative I (CSR) is responsible for retaining existing relationships and establishing new deposit accounts in accordance with branch goals. The CSR is also responsible for promoting and cross‑selling bank products and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Open new accounts including checking, savings, CDs, IRAs and other products offered by the bank.
Comply with all applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
Assess customer needs and cross‑sell appropriate products and services.
Function as Teller, Senior Teller or Teller Supervisor as needed.
Support attainment of branch goals.
Refer new business to company subsidiaries, such as insurance, mortgage and brokerage.
Resolve customer concerns and ensure effective and long‑term problem resolution.
Develop and build customer loyalty.
Follow up on referrals made by other team members.
Assist with loan origination and processing as needed.
Answer customer inquiries relating to products, rates and services.
Provide ancillary services such as notary services.
Be responsible for tracking and monitoring all required documentation.
Maintain a positive, friendly and professional attitude and appearance.
Adhere to work schedules.
Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
Maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on‑the‑job education in a specific skill area (e.g., data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation), plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person‑to‑person and small group situations with customers, clients, the general public and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in routine situations.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Some outside banking‑related courses preferred.
