We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Hybrid Video Editor/ Motion Designer to join our Marketing & Communications team. This role is located in New York City.

About The BNY Video Team Our in-house video team supports BNY’s global brand and communications efforts. We concept, shoot, and edit brand films, executive messages, sizzle reels, social content, and internal storytelling that reach colleagues and clients around the world. The work ranges from fast-turn internal pieces to high-visibility flagship films that represent the firm on external stages. We operate like a small creative studio inside a large company: collaborative, hands-on, and detail-oriented, with a high bar for craft and storytelling.

Responsibilities

Edit short and long form videos for brand films, sizzles, campaigns, social, and internal communications.

Shape story and build clear narratives with pacing, rhythm, and emotional arc.

Design and animate moderate to advanced motion graphics in After Effects. Titles, lower thirds, infographics, transitions, logo animations, and light compositing.

Translate scripts and boards into visual sequences. Offer creative solutions when story or assets are not fully baked.

Use AI-assisted tools such as Runway, Google Veo, and similar platforms to support ideation, create plates, extend or reframe shots, and design transitions that enhance the story.

Collaborate with creative directors, producers, writers, and stakeholders from early concept through delivery.

Manage projects from rough cut to final. Incorporate feedback thoughtfully and maintain high quality across multiple versions.

Prep, organize, and conform projects. Maintain clean timelines, project files, and exports for future reuse.

Partner with external vendors and internal teams when needed, sharing toolkits, graphic packages, and edit templates.

Qualifications

Strong portfolio that shows both story editing and motion design in a professional context.

Expert level skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.

Solid design sense. Understanding of typography, layout, timing, and visual hierarchy in motion.

Experience editing with interviews, and documentary style footage, not just spots and reels.

Working knowledge of AI tools for video and image creation, such as Runway, Google Veo, and similar platforms, and how to use them responsibly to support storytelling

Comfortable working under deadlines, managing multiple projects at once, and communicating clearly with collaborators

Curiosity about the intersection where finance, technology and AI meet human stories.
