Overview

Description Leidos is seeking an experienced communications professional to lead digital-first, short-form storytelling in support of the company's growth strategy, financial performance, and corporate reputation. This role is a key part of the External Communications team and focuses on creating timely, compelling content for media, financial, and investor-focused audiences, as well as broader external stakeholders. This position complements the work of Leidos' Creative Studio, which leads professional, long-form, and campaign-based creative production. The Digital Storytelling Manager is responsible for fast-turn, platform-specific content that extends and amplifies enterprise narratives—particularly those tied to NorthStar 2030, quarterly financial performance, and business momentum. The ideal candidate is a strong editor and storyteller with a journalist's instinct for news value, clarity, and speed, and the strategic judgment to operate in close proximity to media relations and investor communications. Key Responsibilities

Digital Storytelling & External Content

Develop and execute short-form, digital-first content aligned to Leidos' corporate strategy, growth priorities, and financial performance. Create platform-appropriate content for LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and Leidos.com that supports external communications campaigns and reputation goals. Produce content on accelerated timelines (approximately two weeks per cycle), balancing speed with quality and accuracy.

Media, Finance & Investor Audience Support

Collaborate with Marketing, Branding, Social Media, Media Relations, and business teams to ensure storytelling supports corporate reputation objectives. Partner closely with Media Relations to develop content that complements media plans and serves as linkable, journalist-relevant assets. Collaborate with Senior Director, External Communications and Investor Relations to translate quarterly results, financial metrics, and performance narratives into concise, engaging external content.

Integration with Creative Studio

Work in close partnership with the Creative Studio to ensure short-form digital storytelling aligns with broader narrative frameworks and campaign themes. Extend and adapt longer-form, professionally produced content into shorter, digital-native formats optimized for speed and reach. Maintain clear role boundaries by focusing on concepting, scripting, and execution of short-form content, while Creative Studio leads long-form and high-production creative work.

Alignment

Ensure consistency of message, tone, and narrative across digital platforms and external communications efforts. Contribute to integrated content planning across media relations, marketing, and digital channels.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field and 8+ years of experience in digital storytelling, content strategy, journalism, or external communications roles. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirements. Proven ability to develop and execute multi-channel, digital-first content. Strong understanding of financial performance narratives and business metrics. Excellent writing, editing, and editorial judgment skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Demonstrated success working across teams and organizational levels to deliver results. Preferred Qualifications Media relations experience or strong interest in supporting media engagement strategies. Background in broadcast journalism, brand journalism, or military/public affairs communications (e.g., Defense Information School). Experience supporting enterprise strategy, earnings communications, or corporate reputation initiatives. About Leidos
