
Job Description
The Key Account Manager for Emerson in Houston plays a vital role in driving sales growth and managing strategic Valve OEM accounts across the Americas. Reporting to the Director of Key Accounts, this individual leads efforts to strengthen customer relationships, align sales strategies with annual business objectives, and deliver year‑over‑year market‑leading growth. Partnering closely with the Inside Key Account Manager, this role ensures customers receive the right technical support, competitive pricing, accurate quoting, and reliable lead times. This position also serves as a key link between the field and Emerson’s support functions, coordinating regional sales activities and enabling solution‑driven selling to maximize growth opportunities.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Own and manage assigned Valve OEM key accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for all commercial activities
Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and long‑term customer retention
Forecast weekly, monthly and annual demand, manage opportunity funnels, and support S&OP processes with accurate customer insights
Lead pricing strategies, negotiations, and contract renewals in alignment with company objectives
Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and product teams to support technical evaluations, product customization, and application‑specific solutions
Deliver project growth within assigned Valve OEMs and ensure major opportunities are covered and positioned to win
Act as voice‑of‑the‑customer conduit between the field and support functions within Emerson
Monitor OEM market trends, competitive activity, and customer strategies relevant to valve applications
Identify opportunities for product expansion, cross‑selling, and lifecycle management within assigned accounts

Required Qualifications
7 or more years in the process industry with the ability to understand valve and actuation applications or related level of understanding of fluid mechanics and electro‑mechanical equipment
A minimum 5+ years sales experience in a technical sales environment
Proven experience managing Key Account / OEM customers and/or long‑term strategic accounts
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills
Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
BS/BA Degree, required; preferably in Engineering or Marketing
CRM and forecasting system experience (e.g., Oracle CRM)
Knowledge of ASME, ANSI and API standards, helpful
