Position Summary The National Sales Manager is responsible for leading and expanding national sales operations within the gift and souvenir market. This role requires a proven sales leader with deep industry experience, an established national customer database, and the ability to drive revenue growth through strategic account management, distributor relationships, and new business development, including a strong presence at key industry trade shows.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a national sales strategy to achieve revenue, margin, and market share objectives.
Leverage an existing, established customer database within the gift and souvenir industry to drive immediate and sustained sales growth.
Manage, maintain, and expand relationships with key national accounts, regional chains, distributors, and independent retailers.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities across tourist destinations, specialty retail, museums, attractions, and resort markets.
Lead, coach, and manage independent sales representatives and/or internal sales teams as applicable.
Plan, organize, and actively participate in national and regional trade shows, including major gift and souvenir markets.
Represent the company on-site at trade shows, conducting sales meetings, presenting new product lines, and closing orders.
Coordinate pre-show outreach, appointment scheduling, and post-show follow-up to maximize return on investment.
Collaborate with marketing and product teams on booth strategy, merchandising, signage, and promotional materials.
Analyze trade show performance metrics, including leads generated, orders written, and overall sales impact.
Analyze sales data, forecasts, and market trends to inform strategic decisions and territory planning.
Collaborate closely with product development, marketing, and operations to align assortments, pricing, promotions, and inventory planning.
Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance reviews to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive sales experience in the gift, souvenir, or related specialty retail industry.
Demonstrated success as a National Sales Manager or Senior Sales Leader with responsibility for multi-state or nationwide accounts.
A strong, verifiable database of active customers and industry contacts within the gift and souvenir sector.
Hands‑on experience working major gift and souvenir trade shows as a primary sales driver.
Proven ability to generate new business while growing existing accounts.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship‑management skills.
Data‑driven mindset with experience using CRM systems, sales analytics, and forecasting tools.
Willingness to travel nationally, including frequent trade show participation. (Up to 20% travel expectations)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with major gift and souvenir markets (e.g., Atlanta, Las Vegas, New York).
Experience working with distributors, rep groups, and national retail chains.
Knowledge of tourist‑driven retail channels and seasonal buying cycles.
Experience launching new product lines or expanding brands into new regions.
