Yaskawa is currently seeking a

Regional Sales Manager

to strategically drive the motion control business of 4 sales regions in the

West / Pacific Northwest . Provide leadership to all channel and salespeople in the Western regions, including the development and implementation of plans necessary to ensure the region exceeds the stated goals and objectives of the Company, clearly articulating the Company vision as defined by Sales and Marketing, and gain commitment to these shared values.

Responsibilities

Develop Regional Sales plans; organize the sales channels so that they are efficient, effective and maximize our market share.

Provide detailed, accurate and objective channel and sales force appraisals. Set challenging objectives and ensure monthly and yearly sales plans are met.

Staff the region with high performers and coordinate their training. Mentor direct reports and establish strong company loyalty.

Provide leadership to insure direct reports attain the company objectives; review performance on a quarterly basis. Direct and modify behaviors as necessary.

Directly sell to and support key (target) customers, including the initiation and generation of quotation activity in the territory in order to generate present and future business.

Provide reports to the organization and other staff, including sales channel updates, three-month forecasting, progress, MBO updates and new opportunities – on a quarterly basis.

Manage budget and expenses both short term and long term, and continually monitor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, Marketing or Business course work, or equivalent related work experience.

Minimum of 7 years of industrial sales and/or marketing experience in the factory automation industry. A minimum of 3 years of experience leading a regional sales organization is preferred.

Strong professional sales abilities with proven sales record, and an understanding of the US factory automation market.

Deep knowledge of competitors’ products, channels and strategies. Deep knowledge of Yaskawa’s products, channels and strategies a plus.

Thorough understanding of situational selling, value propositions and interpersonal relationships.

Experience in supporting and managing various sales channels, and networks such as distributors, value added resellers, integrators, representatives and other channel outlets.

Strong ability to provide technical and application direction.

Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Must live within the West/Pacific Northwest region and have access to a major airport.
