Job Summary & Key Objectives This position sells products and services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers’ decisions and assist them in applying products and services to their needs. In addition, this position will also provide input in the marketing, budget preparation, business planning, and development of products and services.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Foodservice and Industrial Product Sales with a primary focus on Hirzel brands

Acquire market information

Determine customer needs, recording and reporting for developing market strategies

Determining customer satisfaction with products and services

Identify pertinent information regarding a competitor’s products, pricing and marketing strategies

Maintaining up-to-date awareness of industry activities, trends, environmental issues and government regulations

Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner by:

Developing sales goals, marketing proposals, and strategies for customers on products and services

Presenting products to operators and distributors

Make sales calls to develop relationships, follow up on leads, and grow existing accounts

Maintain contact and research the needs of potential customers in order to expand client base for Foodservice and Industrial Operations by:

Researching and developing lists of potential customers

Pursue independent restaurant, chain businesses, and regional operator sales opportunities

Maintain communications with Food Service broker representatives with goals and targets to maximize sales within budgeted expenses

Participation in food shows, training seminars, product cuttings, etc., with customers and brokers as needed

Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all customers and co-workers:

Prompt response to customer requests and needs

Communicating openly, honestly and constructively

Treating all customers and employees with dignity, respect and concern

Making every effort to resolve any lapse in communication, concerns or problems

Asking for information needed to perform all aspects of the position successfully

Daily requirements: bending, twisting, turning, reaching below the knee, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting

Lifting requirements: Will regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; Will frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (food industry, sales, marketing, or business preferred)

3 years of proven sales experience

Willingness to travel extensively

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability, discipline, and integrity to work independently

Excellent math and proofreading skills

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Package

Self-starter – highly motivated
