Alice Paul House is a comprehensive victim service program located in Indiana, PA. We provide services to victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, other crime and juvenile offenders.
Direct Service Advocate: Full Time
Position Responsibilities
Provide trauma-focused individual and group empowerment counseling to victims/survivors and their significant others
Provide crisis intervention, accompaniment, and advocacy to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, other crimes and victims of juvenile offenders as well as significant others
Child Advocacy
Provide Protection from Abuse Order, Sexually Violent Protection Order and Protection from Intimidation Order Assistance to victims
Provide trauma-informed visitation to non-custodial parents
Actively work with victims and landlords to secure housing for victims of domestic violence
Work in tandem with all departments of Alice Paul House
Travel to client supported sites
Provide evidence based/research supported programming and education to clients, community and students.
Minimum Qualifications
College degree in education, sociology, psychology, social work, or related human services field highly preferred.
One (1) year of experience in the field of sociology, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences preferred.
Employment contingent upon: PA Act 34 certification, Act 151 certification, FBI Fingerprint clearance and successful completion of required APH crisis intervention training
Must have a valid PA driver’s license, clean DMV record, and reliable method of transportation to various worksites, and three reference
