We are seeking a high-performing
Business Development Executive (BDE)
to lead growth in our commercial and HOA painting and coatings business across the Phoenix metropolitan market. This is a strategic, full-cycle B2B sales role responsible for building long-term relationships with general contractors, property managers, facilities managers, and community managers while driving a predictable, high-quality pipeline of commercial work. This role is not transactional sales. Success requires market presence, technical understanding of commercial coatings and construction workflows, and the ability to navigate long sales cycles from opportunity identification through contract award and project handoff. Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Relationship Management
Build and maintain strategic relationships with general contractors, property managers, facilities managers, and community managers throughout the Phoenix metro area
Develop and execute a territory and account strategy to drive sustained growth in commercial and HOA segments
Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and jobsite visits to establish market visibility and brand trust
Sales Execution & Pipeline Management
Own the full sales lifecycle: prospecting, qualification, proposal development, client presentations, contract negotiation, and handoff to operations
Identify and pursue bid opportunities, including RFPs and RFQs, in coordination with estimating and operations teams
Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and forecast reporting within the company CRM system
Proposal & Preconstruction Collaboration
Partner closely with estimating, project management, and operations to ensure accurate scopes, competitive pricing, and realistic project schedules
Support the preparation and delivery of professional proposals, interviews, and client presentations
Ensure smooth transition from contract award to operations, maintaining client continuity and satisfaction
Performance & Growth Metrics
Achieve an annual sales target of approximately
$750,000–$1,000,000 in awarded commercial and HOA contracts
Track and improve key performance indicators including pipeline value, close rates, account growth, and client retention
Provide market intelligence on competitors, pricing trends, and customer needs to leadership
Required Qualifications
3+ years of B2B sales, business development, or account management experience in commercial construction, painting, coatings, facilities services, or a related field
Demonstrated success managing long, relationship-driven sales cycles and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
Strong working knowledge of construction processes, scopes of work, and bid/proposal environments (RFP/RFQ)
Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and specifications related to architectural finishes and coatings
Proficiency with CRM systems and sales pipeline management tools
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Phoenix metro area
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in commercial painting, coatings, or specialty constructionli>
Established relationships with Phoenix-area general contractors, HOAs, or commercial property management firms
Experience collaborating with estimating and operations teams in a construction environment
Familiarity with public and private bid processes
Compensation & Incentives
Base Salary:
$65-85,000 annually
On-Target Earnings (OTE):
$120,000+
Commission Structure:
Tiered, performance-based commission on awarded contract value with accelerators for exceeding annual targets

in awarded work
