Overview The Business Development Specialist works with Producers, incumbents identify and research prospective clients, follow up on sales calls, maintain and update a prospect database and try to drive interest. They may refer new business to Producers, or may close sales themselves.
How you'll make an impact The primary responsibility of the Business Development Specialist is to identify new business opportunities, typically complex in nature. In addition, they will be responsible for uncovering new business opportunities and determining appropriate products/services to offer and provide pre‑sales support for Producers. Business Development Specialist play a critical role in driving growth by leveraging their industry expertise and advanced sales skills to build relationships with executive‑level decision‑makers. While the role may serve as a stepping stone to a Producer career path, it is equally valuable as a standalone position contributing to the company’s success.
About You Required: Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience required. Appropriate insurance licensing required. Preferred: Professional designation may be preferred, including CEBS, CPCU, CIC or ARM. Behaviors: Act independently with minimal direction. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation and benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
