Packing And Shipping Specialist

This position reports to the plant Operations Manager and plans, prepares, and packs products for shipment. Uses standard boxes, crates, or skids for shipments. Construct nonstandard boxes or containers. Selects materials for packing or protecting products and method of bracing or blocking to prevent shifting or damage while in transit. Checks packing list to ensure inclusion of required components and parts. Applies required labels or stencils. Role could be performed by an employee minimal on the job training. Scope and Function:

Work to gain knowledge and new techniques to improve and increase productivity. Follow all safety and housekeeping rules. Actively participate in the safety Program Follow company policies. Cross-train into other areas and job functions as needed. Willing to assist in other areas as needed. Skills/Ability:

Proficiently read and use a tape measure. Skills to safely and proficiently operate all of the following: Panel Saw Skill Saw Forklift Chop Saw Nail and Staple Guns Ability to read, write and speak English in order to interpret shipping documents, shop drawings and communicate in English with drivers. Forklift experience Preferred Qualifications:

Carpentry or construction experience Forklift certification - Company program certification will be required Knowledge of shipping and receiving Responsibilities:

Build crates for equipment to be shipped out. Fasten and place all equipment inside the crate properly. Accurately mark all exterior crates. Accurately complete all required documents, including inspection/crating forms. Follow all safety and housekeeping rules. Actively participate in safety program activities. Follow company policies. Assist Shipping department with other tasks when necessary. Cross train in shipping and receiving Physical Requirements:

Plant or Warehouse Office Environment. While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and appropriate PPE is required. No travel required. High School Diploma or GED. Minimum age requirement is 18 years Experience:
