Senior Immunology Medical Science Liaison– East

Summary of Job Senior Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) at Kyowa Kirin are the field-based extension of our Medical Affairs department. MSLs are scientifically trained professionals who possess strong clinical and/or scientific backgrounds whose role is to be a resource of fair-balanced and scientifically rigorous information to the healthcare community.
Responsibilities
Identify, establish, and maintain professional relationships and dialogue with international, national, regional, and local key opinion leaders and allied healthcare professionals.
Educate healthcare professionals and manage market professionals on Kyowa Kirin's product portfolio.
Ensure the appropriate dissemination of transparent, fair-balanced scientific and clinical information, knowledge, and services in a timely, compliant, ethical, and customer-focused manner.
Function as a regional medical/scientific resource and work to pair external stakeholder needs with available Kyowa Kirin resources.
Gather data to generate actionable insights and competitive intelligence to provide quality and appropriate feedback to headquarters.
Demonstrate high level proficiency in developing and delivering educational resources and clinical information in response to an established need/request.
Independently liaise between investigators and Kyowa Kirin for unsolicited investigator-initiated studies.
Liaise with Clinical Operations to support company-sponsored studies when required.
Engage in timely and fair-balanced scientific exchanges with HCPs in response to unsolicited requests for information related to Kyowa Kirin's products.
Independently lead, attend, and provide scientific support at international, national, regional, and local medical conferences.
Actively participate in advisory boards and clinical investigator meetings when required.
Lead, and deliver internal educational training sessions for internal stakeholders, including disease state, therapeutic landscape, and product information.
Build and cultivate working relationships cross-functionally with adherence to compliance guidelines.
Engage in continued independent learning within the therapeutic area.
Adherence to all company regulatory and compliance policies.
Provide mentoring support to MSLs.
Lead cross-functional internal projects and strategic initiatives, and act as a translational resource to the MSL team.
Qualifications Education
Advanced clinical/science degree or healthcare professional credentials required (MD, PhD, RPh, PharmD, NP, PA, MS or equivalent); Doctorate preferred.
Experience
Minimum
three (3) years MSL experience in pharmaceutical environment, preferably with an Immunology therapeutic focus.
Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and OIG guidelines preferred.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, including building strong working relationships and managing and resolving conflict.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation).
Results-oriented and team-oriented with a proven track record of success.
Current knowledge and full understanding of all relevant industry, legal, and regulatory compliance guidelines.
Technical Skills Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, CRM Systems and Insight Management tools.
Non-Technical Skills
Demonstrates scientific expertise – viewed as a scientific resource by peers.
Proven success in developing and maintaining key opinion leaders and other external stakeholder relationships.
Knowledge and full understanding of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and OIG guidelines.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, including building strong working relationships, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation).
Ability to translate data into customer-centric insights and effectively communicate scientific/clinical data.
Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, and adjust rapidly in a dynamic environment.
Willingness to travel up to 70% (air and ground), including overnight travel and some weekends for conference coverage.
Ability to live near an airport/rail station and cover a large region as assigned.
Commitment to ethical, legal, regulatory, and scientific standards and to acting as a role model for compliant behavior.
Demonstrates ability to manage relationships with KOLs within a large territory and collaborate across functions.
Physical Requirements Ability to travel up to 70% (air and ground), including overnight travel and some weekends for conference coverage.

Compensation The anticipated salary for this position will be $195,000 to $220,000. The actual salary offered for this role at commencement of employment may vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, education, and location.
