Senior Associate – Private Equity Valuations & Portfolio Analytics
Location:
Boston, MA (Hybrid – 3 days in office / 2 remote)
About the Opportunity A leading global alternative investment platform is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Private Equity Valuations & Portfolio Analytics function. This is a highly visible role partnering closely with investment professionals and senior finance leadership to support portfolio monitoring, valuation execution, and performance analysis across a diversified North American private equity portfolio.
The role offers meaningful exposure to senior stakeholders, ownership of critical valuation processes, and the opportunity to build a strong internal brand within a premier investment organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead ongoing monitoring of portfolio company performance across multiple private equity investments
Collect, analyze, and synthesize key financial and operational metrics
Develop portfolio-level reporting for senior leadership and external stakeholders
Partner with investment teams to assess performance trends, drivers, and risks
Valuations
Own quarterly and annual valuation processes for private equity assets
Build and refine valuation models including:
Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
Public and transaction comparables
Unit economics and capital structure waterfalls
Ensure consistency with fair value standards and industry best practices (e.g., ASC 820 / IPEV)
Coordinate with external auditors and support valuation reviews
Prepare valuation materials and insights for internal review committees and senior decision-makers
Ideal Candidate Profile 3–6+ years
of experience in one or more of the following:
Investment banking
Transaction services
Corporate finance
PE-focused audit or valuation
Strong grounding in
corporate finance, accounting, and valuation methodologies
Experience with portfolio monitoring and private equity valuations strongly preferred
Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail
Confident communicator capable of engaging senior stakeholders
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
Preferred but Not Required
CPA or CFA (or progress toward certification)
Experience with portfolio analytics tools (e.g., Anaplan, Chronograph, or similar)
