Position Summary The Lead Director, AI Native Applications & Automations is accountable for building and executing on the strategy of the Center of Excellence for Automation. This technology leader will join forces with business and product leaders to plan, build, execute and deliver a multi‑year roadmap for developing AI native web applications, from proof‑of‑concepts to feature‑rich production deployments aligned with our Automation and Innovation strategy. The Director will lead a diverse team of full‑time employees, contract software engineers, ML engineers, and QA engineers across multiple geographies to deliver multiple agile releases each year. The role is responsible for design, development, testing, delivery, growth and ensuring all opportunities to build industry‑leading technology assets are fully realized.

Responsibilities

Lead the strategy and implementation of the roadmap for the Automation Center of Excellence.

Assess software engineering practices and drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency and time‑to‑market.

Lead engineering teams, guide and mentor them across evolving technology platforms.

People management: hiring, performance management, team building, career growth and coaching.

Build and cultivate strong relationships with business, product and technology partners to support the delivery roadmap.

Build relationships and partnerships with vendors for contingent and solution teams.

Conduct technology research and innovation to develop a long‑term AI strategy.

Required Qualifications

Technology Skills

10+ years of delivery experience using Agile methodologies.

5+ years of micro‑services development using Python, Java (Spring Boot).

5+ years of front‑end development using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular.

5+ years of containerization with Kubernetes, Docker, etc.

5+ years of experience with version control and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, JFrog Artifactory, ArgoCD).

3+ years of logging, observability/telemetry tools (Splunk, Dynatrace).

3+ years of GCP experience.

3+ years of Test‑Driven Development and test automation.

2+ years of developing AI proof‑of‑concepts and applications at scale.

1+ year of experience with Agentic AI frameworks and generative AI web services.

People Management Skills

5+ years of hiring and leading high‑performing distributed teams with performance management and coaching.

Analytical Skills

Strong problem‑solving abilities and data‑driven mindset.

Experience defining and analyzing KPIs to measure project success.

Preferred Qualifications

Out‑of‑the‑box thinker with open‑source, publicly visible work on GitHub.

Strong work ethic, self‑starter, highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Experience understanding AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Experience working with distributed teams across time‑zones.

Experience building healthcare or wellness products.

People management experience.

Experience in Healthcare or Pharmacy technology.

Experience working with onshore/offshore vendors.

Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools.

Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools (cursor.ai).

Familiarity with industry automation tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, n8n).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Industry certifications in AI/ML, Cloud Engineering, Agile Development, etc.

Pay Range $144,200.00 – $288,400.00 (base annual salary; depends on experience, education, geography and other factors). Eligible for bonus, commission, equity award and other incentive programs.
