
Overview
Inland Behavioral and Health Services (IBHS) is seeking an accomplished, board-certified Family Medicine physician to serve as Program Director for our newly developing Family Medicine Residency Program. IBHS is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with multiple sites in San Bernardino County, offering comprehensive, integrated services including Family Medicine, Pediatrics, OB, Dental, Behavioral Health, and on-site ancillary services.
Position Overview
The Program Director provides strategic, academic, and administrative leadership for the Family Medicine Residency Program and is accountable for program quality, accreditation, faculty development, and resident education. This role includes direct patient care, resident supervision, curriculum oversight, and collaboration with institutional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the Family Medicine Residency Program
- Ensure ongoing ACGME compliance and accreditation
- Develop and continuously improve a high-quality Family Medicine curriculum
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate residents and faculty
- Foster a psychologically safe, inclusive learning environment
- Manage residency resources and budget; understand GME funding mechanisms
- Serve on the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC)
- Build partnerships with academic and community training sites
- Complete annual program evaluations and continuous quality improvement activities
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO with active, unrestricted California medical license
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine residency
- Board certification (or eligibility) in Family Medicine (ABFM or AOBFM)
- 3–5 years of GME experience, preferably as Program Director, Associate Director, Site Director, or Core Faculty
- Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, resident education, and underserved communities
