We partner with national and regional foodservice chains across restaurants, convenience, hospitality, coffee, OCS/OCM, and healthcare—helping operators streamline beverage and sweetener solutions across both FOH and BOH. The Key Account Manager – Away From Home (AFH)
is responsible for driving profitable growth and expanding distribution of Heartland’s portfolio—including sweeteners, syrups, creamers, and ready-to-drink coffee—across assigned Away From Home customers and distributor partners. This role manages key distributor and operator relationships, collaborates closely with broker partners, and executes national and regional sales initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong foodservice sales experience, distributor expertise, and the ability to operate strategically while executing at a high level. Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow assigned key distributor and operator accounts within the Away From Home channel Lead and collaborate with broker partners to ensure alignment, execution, and accountability Develop and execute annual business plans to deliver volume, revenue, and profitability objectives Partner with Finance to ensure account health, including pricing, trade spend, deductions, and contract compliance Execute national marketing initiatives, customer programs, and new product launches Identify and activate local and national growth opportunities to increase brand visibility and velocity Analyze distributor and customer data to assess performance, trends, and risks Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales Operations, R&D, and Culinary teams Represent Heartland at trade shows, distributor events, and customer meetings Travel required to effectively manage accounts and relationships Qualifications
Requires Bachelor Degree in Business/Sales Proven experience in
foodservice sales , preferably within the Away From Home channel Strong understanding of broadline distribution and distributor selling models Demonstrated success managing key accounts and broker relationships Ability to translate product capabilities and menu trends into growth strategies Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Strong business acumen with comfort in analytics, pricing, and financial metrics Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities
