Role Purpose The Sales Manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of assigned customers while identifying and developing new sales opportunities. Working closely with the Sales Director, the role supports the definition and execution of regional sales strategy to deliver profitable growth, strengthen customer partnerships, and enhance Amcor’s market position. This role plays a key part in delivering a consistent, high-quality customer experience through effective account leadership, commercial management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Account Management

Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with assigned customers.

Lead customer account management activities, including contract and commercial negotiations, to maximise profitability.

Act as a trusted commercial partner, ensuring customer needs are clearly understood and effectively met.

Support the resolution of complex customer requests and escalations in a timely and professional manner.

Business Growth & Opportunity Development

Develop new business opportunities within existing accounts to deliver sustainable revenue growth.

Identify opportunities for standard or bespoke product development aligned to current and future customer needs.

Work with customers to capture full project briefs and translate requirements into accurate quotations and proposals.

Support regional sales strategy development in collaboration with the Sales Director.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with internal teams including Customer Service, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Operations to deliver an excellent end-to-end customer experience.

Ensure alignment between customer commitments and internal capabilities.

Commercial & Financial Management

Provide accurate forecasts, turnover reporting, and budget input as required.

Monitor stock levels, customer payments, and adherence to agreed commercial terms.

Liaise closely with the Finance team to minimise credit risk and ensure effective cash management.

Lead and support price increase negotiations with customers in line with business objectives.

Systems, Compliance & Governance

Ensure full compliance with all company policies, including Health & Safety, ISO standards, and Amcor operational procedures.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and opportunity data within the CRM system.

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Proven experience in managing customer relationships within a commercial or sales environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Demonstrated ability to build trust and long-term customer partnerships.

Commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate effectively.

Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team.

Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.

Desirable

Experience within manufacturing or packaging environments.

Exposure to B2B sales within complex or regulated industries.
