Job Responsibilities

Work Hours: 10:15 AM – 7:15 PM or other hours based on business needs

Serve as Protective Services Intake Specialist V in the Complaint and Incident Intake Toll-Free Intake Processing Unit

Answer calls related to abuse/neglect/exploitation (ANE) involving various facilities and program areas

Perform complex analysis of complaints, requests for information, and incidents from the public, legislative offices, media, other agencies, and staff

Review calls, faxes, mail, and internet information; assess intakes for priority and handling

Essential Job Functions

Maintain a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy

Receive, process, and distribute intake reports for investigations and other matters

Interpret policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and standards to stakeholders

Prepare summaries of complaints, incidents, and information issues

Maintain current knowledge by reviewing literature, attending meetings, and consulting with professionals

Evaluate complaints and incidents and assign proper priority for investigation

Communicate complex information with internal and external parties to resolve issues

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of state and federal regulatory and assistance programs (preferred)

Skills with ACD call systems and computers

Normal auditory ability; strong oral and written communication

Professional demeanor when interacting with the public and co-workers

Initial Screening Criteria

Complete and clearly written application

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or related work experience substituted on a year-for-year basis up to four years)

Experience in healthcare or related field preferred

Data entry and computer/typing experience

Work hours of 10:15 AM – 7:15 PM or other hours based on business needs

Additional Information

Outside employment restrictions and ethics policies apply; review HHS policies and forms as required

The position is eligible for telework with potential office travel; telework arrangements do not include reimbursement for home infrastructure or personal equipment

Must be available to work holidays as needed
