UGP is seeking a dynamic

Sales Manager

who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. Availability outside regular business hours may be required to provide excellent customer support and close deals promptly. The position is in‑person, reports to the Regional Sales Manager, and is based in Lexington, KY. It is a fixed‑schedule role that may require urgent action during non‑work hours.

Sales Responsibilities

Promote UGP’s core values: show up, work hard, be respectful and honest, strive for excellence, do what you say, and promote DEI.

Convert quotes to sales; marketing drives quotes, sales managers convert them to orders.

Communicate sales, store, and personnel information to the regional manager in a timely manner.

Adhere to the Digital Code of Conduct.

Provide constructive feedback to influence positive change.

Participate in weekly 1:1 meetings with the Regional Sales Manager and weekly L10 meetings with the RSM and other sales managers.

Assist with coverage when other UGP team members are unavailable—primarily email and phone coverage, and occasionally travel to another UGP location.

Ensure customers have the best experience and outcome possible.

Engage with the local community, attending events such as Downtown Association meetings, networking groups, and chamber of commerce meetings.

Communicate with customers via phone, email, or in person to understand their needs and preferences.

Propose ideas for sales and marketing tools to the Regional Sales Manager.

Collaborate with the National Sales Manager and Head of Marketing to engage customers and drive sales at events and local opportunities.

Location Responsibilities

Open and close the store per the checklists in accordance with store hours.

Deposit money to the bank for custom and retail transactions promptly and efficiently.

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming storefront; ensure custom orders and retail products are easy to find and clearly marked.

Keep the store open for scheduled hours and special events.

Coordinate retail displays to optimize sales, ensuring racks and cubbies are full, stocked, and organized.

Actively manage the store on major retail event days, such as home football weekends, graduations, and large events or fairs.

Requirements

Degree from a 4‑year college or university.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Prior sales experience.

Strong typing skills—speed and accuracy.

Highly advanced organizational skills.

Proficiency with Gmail, cloud computing sites, and social media.

Prior management experience is preferred.
