As our
Sales & Events Coordinator,
you will be responsible for seeking out profitable events and large group business by pursuing, developing, and scheduling special events for the resort. You will implement and oversee guest event venue sales and related event services.
This position may require flexible scheduling availability including nights and weekends.
Job Requirements:
Perform targeted outbound pursuit of events and large group business to strategically grow overall property revenue and profit
Actively pursue new accounts and business, including e-mail correspondence, cold calls, prospecting calls, follow-up calls, and participation in marketing and sales strategy
Respond to all incoming leads, queries, and requests in a professional, friendly, and timely manner
Coordinate with vendors and on-property resources to ensure successful event execution
Maintain clear communication of all inquiries and offers with the corporate and property leadership as well as working together to appropriate price event business to maximize revenue
Provide resort tours to prospective clients
Develop long-term business relationships
Establish relationships and networks with key third parties to garner a robust volume of qualified lead referrals for event business
Manage a digital master calendar of all daily, weekly, and annual events
Track and measure all sales activity by tracking all leads from inquiry to final billing
Prepare, review, and finalize formal agreements and enforces property policies and requirements
Prepare and successfully execute on-property meetings and events with clients while continually evaluating event performance and metrics to convert to actionable improvements
Maintain up-to-date awareness of area activities and market trends
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all supervisors, team members, and support teams to reach common goals
Job Qualifications:
6 months experience in organizing events, including luncheons, weddings, and other special occasions
Ability to respond to business needs after normal business hours
Ability to use Microsoft Office
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Advanced computer proficiency
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Flexibility to work events during non-business hours
Strong customer service skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
