Job Summary
DNT
is seeking an experienced and customer-focused
Technical Sales Engineer
to support both inside and outside sales efforts. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, providing technical expertise and supporting engineered solutions for electric arc furnace applications. The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge with strong sales and relationship-building skills and is comfortable traveling throughout the Southeast region.
This position reports directly to Owner of the company. Key Responsibilities
Perform inside and outside sales
activities for prospective and existing customers Identify, pursue and acquire new business opportunities
with new customers Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering excellent service and value Conduct site surveys
to assess current operations and identify future customer needs Provide technical advice and product recommendations
tailored to each customer's application Develop project estimates and customer quotations Coordinate production scheduling
to meet customer and project requirements Support the engineering and application of
components used in electric arc furnaces Act as a technical liaison between customers, engineering and internal teams Maintain accurate sales documentation, customer records and project details Travel throughout the Southeast region approximately 50% of the time primarily consisting of day trips
plus
occasional overnight stays Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Field or equivalent industry experience Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the steel industry Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand engineered industrial components Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong organizational, problem-solving and time-management abilities Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time Preferred Qualifications
