Our client in Rochester, NY is looking for an experienced remote Outside Sales Representative.
About the role
Grow and manage an established
MRO customer base
while developing new business in the Rochester area. You’ll be helping customers solve real maintenance and production challenges using industrial hose, hydraulic, and fluid-conveyance solutions. This is a relationship-driven, hands-on sales role with strong support from inside sales, retail, and warehouse teams. What you’ll do Manage and grow a portfolio of
MRO, manufacturing, fleet, and industrial accounts Prospect new customers and identify opportunities within assigned territory Conduct on-site customer visits to understand applications and recommend solutions Sell industrial hose, hydraulic hose, fittings, assemblies, and related MRO products Work closely with inside sales, retail counter, and operations to deliver fast, accurate service Develop long-term customer relationships built on trust, responsiveness, and technical know-how Prepare quotes, follow up on opportunities, and close business Track activity and opportunities in the CRM system Attend product, safety, and sales training as required Perform other duties as assigned What you’ll bring (must-haves) Strong relationship-building and communication skills Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently Customer-first mindset with a problem-solving approach Basic computer skills (CRM, Outlook, Excel) Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Ability to travel locally within the Rochester territory Preferred qualifications Outside sales experience in
industrial, MRO, hydraulic, or fluid-power distribution Knowledge of hoses, fittings, hydraulics, or mechanical systems Experience selling to manufacturing, fleet, utilities, or industrial customers Familiarity with consultative or solution-based selling Competitive base salary $60-65K + commission 401(k) with company match Health insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Ongoing product and sales training Career growth opportunities within a growing MRO organization Work Location:
