This role will report to AVP supporting P&C Consolidations and Financial Reporting. The P&C Consolidations and Financial reporting team synthesizes P&C results to tell the story of our financial performance and supports P&C Finance and Business leadership, board members, external rating agencies, and more. The team collaborates closely with CFO teams, actuarial partners, strategy, investments, capital team, EPM&A, and others. We are seeking a leader who is passionate about understanding and influencing our strategy to enhance financial performance and deliver profitable results. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and possess a passion for transformation, balancing the big picture with detailed processes.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred leadership experience Proven experience in financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and project leadership OR P&C actuarial experience Strong background in Property and Casualty insurance Experience in driving organizational change Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

Role Details

Hybrid role with 2-3 in-office days per week based in Columbus

This role does not qualify for employer sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.

Role Purpose

As a Director, you'll contribute to the effective management of Nationwide's portfolio investment through results, people and personal performance categories. You'll provide financial, informational, administrative, advisory and analytical services to senior leaders relative to the coordination and management of the transformation project/program portfolio. You'll develop and implement functional portfolio performance measures, track, analyze and communicate portfolio risk and performance.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to Vice President/Officer. Manages at team of four or more financial professionals.

Typical Skills And Experiences

Education:

Undergraduate studies in finance, economics, accounting or statistics; advanced degree in financial field desired. Technical insurance coursework desirable.

License/Certification/Designation:

CPA preferred

Experience:

Typically, ten or more years of relevant experience related to accounting, finance, insurance or administrative business functions, with at least five years of management level experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis, financial statement preparation, budgeting and financial analysis techniques, and related business operations. Facility with GAAP and statutory accounting practices and insurance/financial service business requirements. Thorough knowledge of administrative policies and procedures required.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence. Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
