POSITION: Interim Career and Technical Education Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) Certification as Career and Technical Education Principal in the State of NH
(2) Master’s degree; certification in Educational Leadership (administration/supervision)
(3) Three years of successful Career and Technical teaching experience preferred; previous supervisory experience
(4) Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills
(5) Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO:
Superintendent of SAU #9 and Kennett High School Principal
JOB GOAL:
To provide leadership in the ongoing development and implementation of the Career and Technical program. To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student; to contribute to their becoming mature, able and responsible contributing members of society.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enforces appropriate state statutes, federal laws, executive orders, school board policies, and administrative directives.
Leads the development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of Career and Technical programs and instruction.
Plays a key role in the recruitment, screening, hiring, training, and assigning of instructional personnel.
Provides effective communication with parents, teachers, students, support staff, community, and sending districts.
Maintains appropriate records related to students, instructional, and support staff, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Makes decisions within the designated scope of authority, demonstrating effective leadership in educational matters.
Attends state and federal Career and Technical Center conferences and meetings and apprises the superintendent and principal on state/federal Career and Technical education legislation.
Coordin[?]ates developments in curriculum and instruction with school and district initiatives. Furnishes leadership in determining their appropriateness for inclusion in the non-vocational educational programs.
Oversees the implementation of School to Career activities and Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) experiences, enriching individual student educational journeys.
Utilizes collaborative planning and shared decision-making with students, staff, advisory committees, and community to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
Fosters a collaborative climate characterized by a prevailing attitude of respect among students, staff, and the broader community.
Monitors student enrollment trends to make informed decisions regarding the addition and reduction of Career and Technical programming.
Prepares and presents the budget for Career and Technical Education, incorporating strategic financial planning.
Supervises, evaluates, and recommends staff assignments for Career and Technical Education, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.
Encourages active participation from businesses and the community, promoting partnerships that enhance the school’s educational impact.
Actively participates in the advisory committee of each program, as well as, the Regional Advisory Committee for the MWV Career and Technical Center.
Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Interim position starting on or around February 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026. Salary to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Conway School Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel. The Superintendent of SAU #9 and Kennett High School Principal will be the co-evaluators.
