Director of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
to provide strategic leadership, governance, and technical direction for our PLM ecosystem across the enterprise. This role is a senior leadership position responsible for defining PLM strategy, ensuring data integrity and compliance, and aligning engineering, manufacturing, and enterprise systems to enable scalable growth and operational excellence. This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Director of PLM is responsible for the overall architecture, vision, strategy, governance, and execution of Janicki’s PLM environment. This role owns the end-to-end lifecycle of product data, from concept through manufacturing, sustainment, and archival, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The Director of PLM partners closely with Engineering, Operations, IT, SAP, Program Management, and Executive Leadership to optimize processes, drive standardization, and enable digital thread continuity across systems. This position provides functional and technical leadership for PLM, CAD, and engineering data management while mentoring and guiding PLM personnel. RESPONSIBILITIES
The following essential job functions are performed as Director of PLM: Strategic Leadership & Governance Owns and defines the enterprise PLM strategy, roadmap, and standards aligned to business growth and digital transformation initiatives Establishes and governs company-wide data control, configuration management, and product data lifecycle policies Serves as the executive-level owner for engineering data integrity, traceability, and compliance (ITAR, EAR, customer, and regulatory requirements) Provides leadership in PLM-related decision-making, including system selection, architecture, integrations, and long-term scalability Oversees administration, configuration, optimization, and integration of PLM and CAD-related systems, including but not limited to: CATIA, Siemens NX, Kubatek, ECTR, and Teamcenter Ensures seamless integration between PLM, SAP, and other enterprise systems to support engineering, manufacturing, and program execution Directs system upgrades, enhancements, licensing strategy, and vendor relationships Champions best-in-class CAD and PLM methodologies, including automation, scripting, macros, and advanced workflows Leads continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, standardization, and adoption of best practices across engineering and manufacturing Ensures effective training strategies for PLM, CAD tools, and data control processes across the organization Acts as a subject matter authority on engineering design standards, manufacturing considerations, and digital thread enablement Supports and enforces industry standards and internal engineering governance Provides leadership, mentorship, and direction to PLM administrators, engineering systems staff, and extended functional teams Builds strong partnerships with IT/IS, SAP, Operations, Project Engineering, and Quality teams Collaborates with executive leadership to align PLM initiatives with corporate priorities Communicates clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS
Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3) This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related technical field preferred; advanced degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred Education may be substituted with equivalent industry experience; minimum of high school diploma or GED required Minimum 8–12 years of progressive experience in PLM, engineering systems, or CAD leadership roles Demonstrated experience leading enterprise PLM implementations or transformations Strong command of CATIA and Siemens NX required Experience with SAP, Teamcenter, and scripting/automation (VBA, C++, Java, or similar) preferred Excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills in English ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Salary range for this role is between
$125,000 - $185,000 , plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role.
