Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Camp Director to support the Camp Director in overseeing daily camp operations and ensuring a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for campers, staff, and families. This role is ideal for a candidate who is at least 21 years of age, possesses strong leadership skills, and enjoys hands-on involvement, staff support, and program coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Aid with coordination, organization, and supervision of daily camp operations
Assist with creation and management for entire summer camp, ranging from general management to specialized activities
Assist Camp Director with hiring and management among the Youth Center and Summer Camp staff
Help with the creation and development of the day-to-day curriculum for the summer camp
Serve as acting Camp Director when the Camp Director is unavailable
Assist with enrollment support, attendance tracking, and camp software systems
Facilitate communication among all staff and parents
Ensure camper safety, behavior management, and proper supervision at all times
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age
Experience working with children in a camp, school, or youth program setting
At least two seasons of experience working as part of an administrative staff at a recreational camp for children
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented with a positive attitude
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
