About the Role The company is looking for a motivated and driven business development representative to help them grow by identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential customers in the industrial space. As the front line of the sales organization, you’ll generate pipeline, uncover business needs, and schedule qualified meetings for their inside sales representatives and account executives. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment and enjoys building relationships through proactive outreach. Success in this position means maintaining consistent activity levels, ensuring CRM accuracy, and directly contributing to overall sales growth.

Responsibilities

Research and identify target accounts within assigned territories or verticals

Execute outreach through phone, email, and LinkedIn

Meet or exceed daily activity targets (e.g., calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach)

Lead Qualification

Conduct inbound and outbound discovery calls using structured frameworks such as BANT (budget, authority, need, timeline)

Assess potential fit based on business pain points and project timelines

Log detailed qualification notes, decision process, and challenges in Salesforce

Collect application data and photos, attaching to opportunities when applicable

Route high-quality leads to the appropriate inside sales representative or account executive

CRM & Data Management

Maintain clean, accurate records in Salesforce, including activity logs and next steps

Ensure correct opportunity stages and data integrity

Identify and report duplicate or unassigned records to Sales Operations

Campaign Execution & Coordination

Execute outbound campaigns aligned with marketing initiatives or product launches

Follow up promptly on inbound leads and campaign responses

Provide feedback to Marketing on campaign performance, messaging, and lead quality

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with inside sales and account executive teams for seamless hand-offs

Stay informed on current product offerings, competitive positioning, and industry trends

Participate in team huddles, pipeline reviews, and EOS meetings (rocks, to-dos, weekly cadence)

Assist Sales and Marketing with special projects or initiatives as needed

Qualifications

5-7 years of B2B experience in a sales, business development, or lead generation role in industrial sales

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Comfortable with outbound calling and high-volume activity

Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms

Organized, coachable, and motivated by measurable results

Ability to collaborate effectively across departments
