Overview
Location: New York, NY GQ Visuals Editor is responsible for all aspects of photo shoot production and picture research across GQ’s print and digital platforms. Candidates should have excellent editorial judgment and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. A broad knowledge of industry teams and connections is a must, including relationships with agencies, photographers, stylists, studios, and others. This position reports to the Visuals Director and is based in New York City. Primary Responsibilities
Work closely with editors to understand visual/photo needs for assigned projects. Pitch cross-platform ideas that align with established brand identity and visual strategy. Own all research, image selection, credits, and CMS upload/publication across platforms. Support cross-platform photo shoot production, ensuring the creative concept is upheld from brief to final delivery, including: Curating photographer lists and creating visual mood boards that align with GQ’s point of view Commissioning teams and liaising with agents, photographers, studios, stylists, hair/makeup, catering, and other vendors Creating and maintaining timelines, schedules, budgets, shot-lists, call-sheets, production credits and other production documents; sharing information with stakeholders Attending and managing on-set production, as needed Partnering with colleagues in CNE to ensure synergy across photo and video production Coordinating the post-production process for lo-res and hi-res photo selection and final delivery Liaise with the social media team to ensure images are optimized, properly formatted, and visually consistent across all social and digital platforms Collaborate with other visuals department team members to support larger scale shoot productions as needed. Contribute to tracking and maintaining project budgets within the photo budget across platforms, escalating when needed to Visuals Director, Creative Director, and/or Operations and Finance partners. Secure contracts, photo fees, and usage rights for all images (produced and researched), in partnership with CN legal and business affairs teams. Ensure all invoices are tracked and processed in a timely manner and that jobs are wrapped accurately and efficiently. Regularly review portfolios and maintain relationships with agencies and photographers. Qualifications
3–5+ years of work experience in photo/visual production or related field, with knowledge of image libraries, stock agencies, photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, and groomers. Strong editorial judgment with demonstrated experience contributing to visual stories across platforms. Highly motivated self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Meticulous eye for detail and strong organizational skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Entrepreneurial spirit balanced with operational rigor. Passion for fashion, entertainment, culture, and photography. Fluency in photo equipment and lighting is recommended; added plus if the candidate can shoot product still life in-studio and on location. About Condé Nast

Salary is commensurate with experience. The expected base salary range for this position is $76,000–$86,000. Salary offers are based on factors including skills, training, experience, and education. This is a guild position. What happens next?
