The
Vice President of Special Events & Partnerships
is accountable for creating and implementing special event and fundraising strategies that support the advancement of CHS strategic objectives and priorities, enabling ambitious fundraising growth for CHS. This involves consulting and collaborating with the Managing Directors of Area Development and their teams, as well as with the Development and External Affairs teams to execute strategies to maintain, grow and diversify fundraising events and initiatives, while supporting the use of best practices, benchmarks and key performance indicators to measure and sustain momentum. Growth and professional development opportunities
1.
Create and implement initiatives to maintain, grow and diversify fundraising, while executing a business strategy to implement best practices and standards that will deliver transformative financial impact in advancing the CHS mission.
Special Event Consultation, Coordination & New Revenue Growth Strategies (75%)
Develop and implement a multi-year comprehensive plan for fundraising events in partnership with Senior Vice President of Development, ensuring alignment with CHS fundraising goals.
Serve as a key member of the Development Leadership Team, collaborating on development strategy, planning and budgeting, as well as in driving year-over-year revenue growth.
Participate in visioning for development initiatives, revenue diversification and philanthropic growth.
Provide consulting services to train, coach and mentor the Managing Directors of Area Development and their teams, on best practices in the special event space, as well as ensure they are following best practices, staying on benchmarks and focused on key performance indicators.
Support the Managing Directors in new revenue growth strategy creation and implementation (e.g., youth engagement).
Serve as decision maker on event contract approvals, event theme changes, event scripting (in consultation with the Communications Team) and elevate any disagreements to the Senior Vice President of Development; collaborate in finding resolution.
Use research and data to create and execute opportunities that position CHS ahead of major funding changes or trends.
Assist in the review and selection of fundraising software in partnership with the IT Team.
Regional Collaborations & Partnerships (15%)
Lead regional Development teams in creating partnerships that help grow opportunities beyond event sponsorships.
Serve as the lead for statewide partnership opportunities outside of corporations and that don’t align with regional relationships (e.g., retirement organizations, outside Florida foundations and others, such as the Florida Association of Post Secondary Schools, etc.)
Collaborate with regional Development teams to build and execute opportunities that result in desired revenue outcomes.
Provide expertise, ongoing guidance, and support to regional collaborators, including the Regional Managing Directors and the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, to build and implement the best account strategy for corporate partners and CHS.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Communications) to develop collateral that maximizes CHS impact and visibility.
Drive and model the “One CHS” mindset in regard to best-in-class partnerships and solicitation techniques.
Program Administration & Reporting (10%)
Collaborate with the Finance Team to coordinate administration, management and stewardship of partner giving.
Maintain compliance with CHS policies and practices regarding risk management, donation processing and financial controls.
Work closely with the Data Team to track/record gifts and donor records in the CRM system; use the CRM to document activities within 2 business days, staying current with changes while following moves management policy and practices.
Create, manage, and track ROI metrics for special events working towards an overall 3:1 ratio or better.
Steward and prepare regular reports of impact and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key metrics.

Participate actively in departmental meetings, training, and education, as well as the quality process.

Job Qualifications
Education, Licenses & Certifications:
Required
– Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Sales, or related degree from accredited university
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience:
Required
– Ten plus years of experience in Development. Experience developing, maintaining and managing relationships with business executives.
Required
– Demonstrated success in closing donors and achieving financial goals in excess of $1 million
Preferred
– Experience developing and managing large-scale initiatives, special events and relationships.
Preferred
– Experience in the use of fundraising software and tools.
Knowledge/Awareness of:
Community resources and networks to enhance client experiences and results. Corporate relations and donor cultivation principles, practices and performance standards. Special events planning and management.
