About the Role The Patient Advocate helps families navigate the Single‑Case Agreement (SCA) process and secure insurance authorizations. Responsibilities include educating clients on treatment plans, encouraging engagement, and managing data entry, follow‑ups, and negotiations. A sales‑oriented mindset and strong empathy are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary contact for families and insurers, guiding them through the SCA process.
Gather client information, explain admissions, and use inside‑sales techniques to promote ABA services.
Collaborate with clinical teams to develop treatment plans and compile supporting documentation.
Negotiate with insurers to secure SCAs for ABA services.
Maintain detailed records of communications with families, insurers, and internal teams.
Track SCAs, provide updates, and address client concerns.
Stay current on regulations, trends, and best practices for effective advocacy.
Participate in ongoing training to enhance ABA and ASD expertise.
Qualifications
High‑school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in admissions or inside sales, preferably in ABA or ASD services.
Strong understanding of the SCA process and insurance regulations.
Proven negotiation and advocacy track record.
Willingness to submit to drug and background screenings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
Ability to build rapport with families, insurance providers, and internal stakeholders.
Proven sales aptitude and proper telephone etiquette.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Capacity to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Understanding of ABA therapy principles and practices is a plus.
Experience with ASD and/or ABA therapy, personally or professionally.
