GD&T ,
digital product definition , and
Siemens NX
who thrives in a fast‑paced, highly regulated engineering environment.
The Designer 4 plays a critical role in ensuring design accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with established engineering, industry, and military standards. This position requires close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Review and check mechanical drawing and design packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable industry and military standards
Verify designs for
fit, function, manufacturability, and cost‑effective fabrication
Perform tolerance analysis and hardware selection review, including fitment on assembly drawings
Serve as a subject‑matter expert for
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) , resolving interpretation issues on drawings
Verify 3D models released to manufacturing using
Siemens NX
managed with
Teamcenter
Create and revise
parametric models and assemblies
using NX in a managed data environment
Produce and maintain fully defined drawings in accordance with
ASME modeling and drawing standards
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other cross‑functional teams
Liaise with external vendors as required to support design and fabrication activities
Provide technical guidance and, when assigned, supervise or direct the work of other designers or drafting staff
Manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting schedule commitments
Required Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent technical degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field, plus 6 years of relevant experience
Strong working knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5‑2009 (GDTP Professional Certification preferred)
Experience with Digital Product Definition (DPD) practices per ASME Y14.41
Proficiency using Siemens NX and Teamcenter in a production environment
Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes, including CNC milling and lathe operations
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Proficiency with standard office tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows‑based applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Ability to work extended periods at a workstation while maintaining accuracy and focus
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with weld design per AWS D17.1 and AWS D1.1
Experience working on DoD or aerospace programs
Working knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and MIL‑STD‑100
