Overview The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining marketing strategies to meet objectives and enhance the image of the hotel; they are also responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in his/her market segments and prospecting/closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact hotel revenues. He/she will evaluate customer feedback, market conditions, and competitor information to implement sales and marketing strategies. The Sales & Marketing Manager will help coordinate and execute all marketing, advertising, promotional activities and social media campaigns.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement social media strategy designed to support hotel priorities

Lead special promotions relating to direct sales segments

Be familiar with all Highgate Hotel sales policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing revenues

Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOP’s, and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales team

Complete administrative tasks to support the overall sales operation including but not limited to drafting contracts, building group resumes and BEO’s, building group room blocks, tracking sales and marketing expenses, awarding loyalty points, departmental weekly reports, and completing rooming lists

Curate and host on-brand activations

Participate in MOD schedule (may need to work weekends on occasion)

Meet or exceed set goals

Provide support as event coordinator when necessary

Ability to work proficiently quickly in a high-pressure & fast paced environment

Exceptional with details and follow up

Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner

Assist with and manage Lead Volume and/or RFP bids

Assist with completion of Month End Reports for Group Sales

Other duties, as required, related to Sales related systems or hotel operations

Regularly contact existing accounts based on the tracing frequencies of the Account Coverage Program

Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales

Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours and site inspections

Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner

Manage influencer and VIP media visits and outreach

Manage content creation and hotel photoshoots

Menu design and in-house marketing collateral design

Manage email marketing campaigns

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred

At least 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred

College course work in related field helpful

Computer knowledge/skills required

Flexible and long hours sometimes required

Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects

Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times

Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner

Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests

Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines

Attending all hotel required meetings and trainings

Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag

Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations

Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions

Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary

Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives

Must be able to cross-train in other hotel-related areas

Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information

Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs

Perform other duties as requested by the Director
