Your Tasks:
Responsible for building parametric models with SolidWorks and Tacton Design Automation, which involves 3D CAD design, generating drawings, and building a user interface in the configurator
Discuss standards and variants with product experts; create and adjust parametric design master models for local standards
Create variant tree with product expert; create 3D master model in SolidWorks and program configuration rules and user interface in Tacton Design Automation Studio
Document classification and link correct SAP material numbers; define required 2D drawings with product expert and create 2D drawings in SolidWorks
Utilize GD&T, 3D CAD, 2D CAD, SolidWorks, SAP, product development, engineering drawings, and engineering calculations to perform duties
Program rules for drawing configuration in Tacton Design Automation Studio; test and release parametric design master models; responsible for continuous improvement of existing parametric design master models, and improvement of local parametric design related processes; prepare and assist parametric design end users and support parametric design end users in customer projects; and participate in international team communication and improvements.
Location: Southfield, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US
Salary: $85,000 per year.
Your Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Six (6) months in the position above, as an Automotive Applications Intern, as a Graduate Engineer Trainee, or in a related occupation;
Other Requirements: Experience must include any use of all the following: GD&T, 3D CAD, 2D CAD, SolidWorks, SAP, product development, engineering drawings, and engineering calculations.
Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
