Job Title: Multi-Course Golf Course Superintendent
Location: Meadows Farms Golf Course and Somerset Farms – Locust Grove, Virginia
Reports To: General Manager

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead the agronomic management of two courses in central Virginia. The Superintendent will oversee all turfgrass maintenance, staffing, budgeting, and capital improvements at both courses. Each course has bentgrass greens and Bermuda fairways. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with proven expertise in warm‑season/cool‑season transition‑zone agronomy, team development, and delivering the best playing conditions year‑round.
Key Responsibilities Course & Grounds Management
Direct all daily maintenance operations of two golf courses, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and native areas.
Develop and execute annual agronomic plans tailored to bentgrass greens and Bermuda fairways in the USDA Zone 7a climate.
Manage and coordinate staffing activities for each course.
Prepare and oversee an annual operating budget.
Operate and maintain a Toro irrigation system.
Implement IPM programs, nutrient management, and cultivation schedules to achieve superior turf conditions.
Communicate and coordinate maintenance activities with all golf departments.
Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
Oversee equipment maintenance (scheduled and unscheduled) repairs, and shop operations.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
Strong knowledge of cool and warm-season turfgrass management in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Virginia Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain promptly).
Valid driver’s license.
