Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Video Editor/Videographer - Boca Raton, FL.

We're seeking a skilled visual storyteller with a passion for creating engaging, high-quality video content. Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional video services and post-production work for the Florida Atlantic community.

  • Collaborate with department peers to produce innovative and creative content, utilizing new industry trends, AI, editing techniques, and creative cinematography and lighting.

  • Assist with all phases of video production, from filming to post-production editing, including working with footage, copy, audio, graphics, and effects programs, to the specifications of the project by the supervisor or client.

  • Filming for a project with autonomy, working alone, or as part of a larger team.

  • Ensures brand integrity and maintains the highest standards of quality for all content created.

  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends.

  • Pitch, design, and create on-brand creative video solutions for high-quality, engaging content for use across a variety of platforms (social media, website, brand campaigns, digital ads, internal and external presentations, etc.).

  • Filming in a variety of settings, locations, and cinematic production styles as determined best for various projects, including live webcast events, marketing, and educational field/studio environments. Be able to carry, set up, break down, and troubleshoot production gear in a variety of internal and external field environments.

  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with internal units and university colleagues.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma and five years field of video production experience required.

Submission of a portfolio with video work samples is a requirement for consideration. Applicants must provide work samples at the time of application, either as a link included on their resume or as an attachment within the job application that contains the link. Applications submitted without work samples will not be reviewed. Each sample should clearly outline your role in the project, how you collaborated with your team, the research or creative rationale guiding your editing and production choices, and the reasoning behind the final concept or video outcome.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Demonstrated expertise in video editing across a variety of formats and styles.

Proficiency working in a Mac-based production environment.

A strong, high-quality portfolio showcasing cinematography, lighting, and editing skills.

Foundational understanding of design principles, including typography, color theory, and composition.

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications.

Expert-level experience editing in Final Cut Pro.

Ability to receive and apply direction and feedback from Florida Atlantic's Director of Video Services.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with Division of Public Affairs staff and university colleagues, while adhering to Florida Atlantic policies and visual standards.

Salary:

$60,000 - $77,500 per year.

Final candidate will be required to have official, sealed transcripts and original NACES evaluation, if applicable, sent from their educational institution to Human Resources prior to the start of employment.
