The Director of IT Business Systems is a hands‑on, strategic leadership role responsible for owning and scaling Emburse’s core go‑to‑market (GTM) business systems, with Salesforce as the central hub. This leader will align business processes, systems architecture and execution to enable efficient, scalable growth across Sales, Marketing, Finance and Customer Success.

This role is intended to be

hybrid , with an expectation of

three days per week in the office

once a Burlington‑area office location is established. Until then, the role will operate remotely, with priority given to candidates who are based in the Greater Boston area and able to commute to Burlington long term.

This is a

player/coach role

– you will lead a team while remaining deeply involved in Salesforce administration, integrations and architectural decision‑making.

What You Will Do

Own Salesforce as the system‑of‑record and hub for all GTM systems, including Salesforce CPQ, marketing automation, finance and customer support platforms.

Provide hands‑on Salesforce leadership, including configuration oversight, data model decisions, automation and platform health.

Lead and govern all Salesforce and Salesforce CPQ integrations, ensuring scalability, reliability and long‑term maintainability.

Business Process & Transformation Leadership

Own and continuously improve end‑to‑end Lead‑to‑Cash processes, including Lead, Opportunity, Quote, Contract, Billing and Revenue.

Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Product and IT to translate business transformation initiatives into scalable system solutions.

Balance speed, flexibility and compliance while enabling revenue growth.

Establish and enforce governance for system changes, integrations and tooling requests.

Evaluate and prioritise new integration requests, holding the line against unnecessary complexity and technical debt.

Ensure systems align with security, compliance and data privacy requirements (e.g. SOX, GDPR).

Build, mentor and lead a high‑performing Business Systems team (administrators, developers, analysts).

Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, operations and digital transformation teams.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and executives across the organisation.

What You Bring

10+ years of experience in business systems, enterprise applications or process transformation roles.

Hands‑on Salesforce experience at an administrator, architect or equivalent level (Salesforce certifications strongly preferred).

Proven experience owning Salesforce as a hub‑and‑spoke architecture supporting multiple integrated GTM systems.

Deep understanding of Lead‑to‑Cash business processes.

Experience working with Salesforce CPQ and complex system integrations.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and set clear boundaries.

Demonstrated player/coach leadership style.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience integrating Salesforce with financial systems (NetSuite strongly preferred).

Marketing systems experience (Marketo or similar).

Experience in a high‑growth SaaS or tech‑enabled services environment.

Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOX, GDPR and data privacy requirements.

Experience leading enterprise‑wide system or business transformation initiatives.
