As an essential member of the Advertising Trust's Policy & Integrity team, you will engage in high-impact projects that will shape both the customer experience and the long-term strategy for Amazon Advertising. Our diverse and experienced team thrives on creativity, in-depth analysis, and a strong customer focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee advertising policies from concept through implementation, including rationale formulation, language crafting, communication strategies, and ongoing data-driven monitoring.
  • Clearly articulate risks and prepare quality written presentations for internal stakeholders to foster understanding and consensus on policy matters.
  • Collaborate with product teams by drafting business requirement documents that ensure new ad products comply with existing advertising policies.
  • Forge partnerships with other policy teams within the Ad Trust Policy team and across diverse business units, including Sales, Legal, and Public Policy, to support effective policy management.
  • Assist in managing sensitive escalations in collaboration with moderation and tiered support teams when necessary.
  • Gain insights into the functionalities of ad tech systems, particularly Amazon's, to inform and improve policy development.

A Day in the Life

In the role of Policy Manager, you’ll regularly monitor the accuracy and relevance of policies, leveraging various signals to guide your decisions. You will handle escalated inquiries regarding compliance, all while being committed to understanding locale-specific requirements, cultural norms, and societal expectations. Through comprehensive risk assessments, you'll create policy recommendations that account for multiple risk factors. Your collaboration with product teams will enable you to seamlessly bridge policy and product, effectively addressing risks. Engaging with internal publishers and external supply partners, you'll coordinate resource sharing and management across teams to ensure consistent advertising experiences.

About the Team

The Ad Policy Team takes responsibility for global ad policies across all Ad products and Amazon Publishers. We play a critical role in supporting Amazon Advertising, with touchpoints across various business sectors. For every ad we serve, we strive to make a positive impact on our customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Awareness of current trends and events that influence policy decisions.
  • 3+ years of experience in ad tech, product policy, advertising policy, or related fields with a policy-focused background.
  • Proven experience collaborating with Public Relations, Legal, and Public Policy teams.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional groups in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience in managing, analyzing, and presenting results to senior management.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills that build trust with stakeholders, including leadership.
  • Strong analytical abilities to utilize data for complex decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, law degree, or MBA.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale policy changes.
  • Experience with metrics and data analysis related to policy development.
  • Proven background in digital advertising concerning policy, compliance, or legal matters.

Compensation for this role ranges from $106,600 to $185,000 annually, influenced by geographic market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
