Vanguard Charitable is hiring: UX/UI Designer (Contractor) in Malvern

Summary

In this role, you'll help simplify complex donor journeys and design seamless, intuitive experiences that span platforms and organizations. You will work partially embedded within a Vanguard UX team, collaborating closely with designers, product owners, and developers. You'll prototype new concepts, conduct user research, map shared experiences, and shape the future of donor-facing digital touchpoints.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design UX/UI prototypes to explore, refine, and validate new product concepts.
• Run moderated and unmoderated usability tests, analyze user behaviors, identify pain points, and translate insights into actionable design improvements.
• Conduct user research to uncover insights and inform design decisions.
• Develop journey maps illustrating cross-organizational donor experiences.
• Create wireframes, flows, and interaction models that clarify system behavior across donor touchpoints and cross-platform experiences.
• Apply WCAG and accessibility best practices across prototypes, designs, and workflows to ensure experiences are inclusive for all donor types.
• Create and maintain clear documentation for flows, patterns, research findings, and recommendations that support continuity across both organizations.
• Present research findings and design recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evolve and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design work.
• Proficiency in Figma, Jira, and Confluence; familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
• Experience working within established design systems and brand guidelines.
• Ability to balance user needs with business goals using a strategic, system-thinking mindset.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including comfort presenting to stakeholders and leadership.
