Trade Compliance Specialist (Temp to Hire)
— Location: Devens, MA (Onsite); Duration: 6 Months (Temp to Hire); Shift: 1st Shift. About the Role
We are seeking a
Trade Compliance Specialist
to support U.S. import and export operations within a manufacturing and aerospace-focused environment. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable trade regulations, internal policies, and procedures while supporting daily trade operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with import/export compliance and thrives in a cross-functional, regulated setting. Key Responsibilities
Support U.S. import and export operations to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies Maintain and audit division import/export manuals and procedures Manage item master data including HTS classification, Country of Origin (COO), and license status Partner with Engineering and Procurement on compliance coding for new products Ensure accurate and timely filing of import and export records in accordance with U.S. and international regulations Provide Free Trade Agreement (FTA) data to customers as required Assist with government licensing applications when necessary Ensure proper export of products in compliance with regulatory requirements Monitor and manage trade compliance systems and tools Ensure adherence to internal trade compliance policies and programs Maintain compliance with industry regulations including
CTPAT, ITAR, and EAR Participate in required annual import/export compliance training Promote and support a safe work environment Collaboration & Reporting
Reports to the
Trade Compliance Manager Works closely with Engineering, Customer Service, Contracts Administration, Suppliers, IT, Transportation & Logistics, and Compliance teams Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with
2+ years of relevant trade compliance experience , or 4+ years of relevant experience
in lieu of a degree Required Skills & Knowledge
Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to interpret regulations and apply them to business processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners Understanding of lean enterprise principles and continuous improvement practices What’s Offered
