We're seeking someone to join our team as a Director of Stock Loan and Fully Paid Lending Operations to drive strategic operations requiring deep expertise, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to risk and operational excellence.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships, driving strategic automation solutions by embracing a transformation mindset and challenging the status quo.

This is a Director, Team Specialist role at the P3 level within Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

The Stock Loan Operations Director will oversee the daily operational management of stock loan activities, ensuring accurate processing, settlement, and reconciliation of stock loan transactions. This role will manage the stock loan operations team, optimize workflows for efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate closely with trading, finance, and compliance departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the stock loan operations team and daily activities related to stock loan and fully paid lending transactions.
  • Oversee trade settlement, reconciliation, and reporting for stock loan accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements specific to stock lending.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Coordinate with sales, trading, finance, and compliance teams on loan products, risk management, and reporting.
  • Monitor and resolve operational issues related to stock loans while escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Lead training and development initiatives for team members.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in stock loan operations, securities lending, or fully paid lending.
  • Strong knowledge of stock loan products, settlement processes, and regulatory environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing operational teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry systems such as securities lending platforms (Loanet, FIS systems, and DTC).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with risk management and process automation in stock loan operations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve operational goals.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $82,000.00 and $133,000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
