Summary: The Project Director leads business development strategy for the Land Development practice. This client-facing role focuses on developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external Land Development clients in the DFW region. Key priorities include strategic planning, quality assurance, and problem resolution.

General Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships and grow the Land Development business in and around Dallas, Fort Worth, McKinney, and beyond.
  • Serve as a Brand Ambassador for the Company to enhance the LJA Land Development presence in the DFW Metro.
  • Lead a team of EITs, designers, and CAD draftsmen to produce construction plans, exhibits, reports, etc., as required by clients.
  • Develop intermediate and long-range strategic plans for the practice.
  • Lead business development activities by marketing to existing clients and identifying new opportunities.
  • Support technical efforts for business development, including responses to RFPs and SOQs, preparing presentations, and coordinating efforts across the office.
  • Manage project team performance on assigned projects.
  • Provide technical advice and serve as a subject matter expert on practice projects.
  • Offer expertise in collaborative delivery methodologies to clients.
  • Participate in quarterly Operations Meetings with Sector Leaders, the President, and the Business Solutions team.
  • Engage in professional associations and civic organizations within the community.

Required Education/Licenses:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, with additional licenses as appropriate.

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years in Land Development planning and design.
  • 5+ years in a business development role (preferred but not required).
  • Experience in the DFW region.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
