Lilly is boosting its product pipeline with advanced technologies such as continuous processing, biotech platforms, and digital manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
The Associate Director leads the Digital Manufacturing Engineering (DME) team (8–12 engineers and contributors), oversees safety, performance, talent, and business results. They coach talent, provide technical leadership to global sites, support major project delivery, and collaborate with the IT organization.
- Support DME team strategy, business planning, and team building.
- Lead the Digital Engineering Governance Framework.
- Partner with manufacturing sites on solution assessments, reuse, and concept development.
- Provide technical coaching and mentoring to Lilly engineers.
- Monitor and influence external industry trends.
- Own global DME supported programs and initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science.
- Minimum 5 years’ pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with digital manufacturing technologies.
- Previous supervisory experience with direct reports.
Additional Skills/Preferences
- Knowledge of data systems, historians, and reporting platforms.
- Project and vendor management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- cGMP regulatory knowledge in process or automation engineering.
Additional Information
- Supports drug product and drug substance network globally; may require up to 15% US and OUS travel.
- Monday–Friday, Day Shift.
Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated wage: $118,500 – $173,800 annually.
