The Clinic Administration Director of Oncology provides leadership, direction and support for our University of Arizona Cancer Center clinics. Responsibilities include achieving quality outcomes, reducing costs, and shaping standards to ensure high patient, provider, and employee satisfaction. The role also supports other facility‑specific patient outcomes and provides direction, support, and oversight for clinical care across assigned oncology sites.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of 57 NCI Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States. Our oncology program is accredited by the Commission on Cancer, National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), and recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.

Shift: Mon-Fri Exempt Position
Location: 3838 N Campbell Ave Building 1 – University of Arizona Cancer Center-North Campus, with travel to BUMC‑Tucson and South Campus, and the University of Arizona Orange Grove Clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and operational support to the ambulatory standard of care operating model across the organization.
  • Partner with clinical performance group medical and process leaders and/or corporate services leaders to design and implement an industry‑leading standard care delivery model.
  • Maintain and improve the model throughout the organization, ensuring adherence and identifying enhancement opportunities for ambulatory workflow processes and clinical/business performance outcomes.
  • Provide direction and oversight to corporate services functions to meet ambulatory needs, including central scheduling, referral integrity, physician credentialing, onboarding, and performance reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate and monitor performance effectiveness using standardized outcome measurements and drive innovative plans and strategies.
  • Lead and oversee utilization and integration of technology to support the ambulatory care model(s).
  • Build and support effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and organizations.
  • Review, prepare, analyze, and present reports and recommendations to senior leadership regarding operations, programs, and services.
  • Participate as a subject‑matter expert and may lead or facilitate task forces, teams, or councils.
  • Maintain accountabilities toward achieving and maintaining system strategies, initiatives, and operations related to the ambulatory care model(s).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Clinical licensure and/or certification as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Registered Nurse (depending on area of focus).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field.
  • Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in a clinical care setting, including a lead/consultative role within an integrated health care/ambulatory system or large multi‑operational corporate environment.
  • Proven track record of driving successful performance outcomes in a highly matrixed setting.
  • Experience anticipating and responding to the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Skilled in building partnerships with management, staff, and stakeholders to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Experience managing problems and situations with uncertainty, developing strong, enduring relationships, fostering team cohesion, and persuading others.
  • Ability to construct innovative solutions for complex problems while considering the larger perspective.
