Customer:

An international industrial group with a strong manufacturing and trading footprint is seeking a hands-on, strategic Operations Director to lead and evolve its U.S. operations and supply chain. The company operates a manufacturing site in New York State and a trading and logistics office in Texas , with international supply partners across Europe and Asia . About the position:

This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep experience complex supply chain management, someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and can drive integration across manufacturing, logistics, procurement, and commercial interfaces.

Reporting to:

• North America Region Director – direct report line; and Group COO – functional dotted report line

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead operational and supply chain performance across U.S. sites (1 plant in NY, 1 commercial/trading office in TX)
• Work in close partnership with the local Plant Manager and Supply Chain Manager to ensure alignment across production, planning, inventory, and logistics.
• Oversee trading and import flows from multiple international production sources (Europe and Asia), ensuring supply reliability and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with commercial and sales teams to align supply chain capabilities with customer requirements, product developments and service levels.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement across operational functions, with a strong focus on KPIs, quality, and responsiveness.
• Support the regional leadership in strategic transformation initiatives and cross-border coordination.

Preconditions:

• Proven track record (10+ years) in supply chain leadership, ideally in industrial or manufacturing settings with international trade exposure.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain dynamics: sourcing, procurement, shipping, inventory, and production coordination.
• Capable of bridging plant-level operations and commercial strategy.
• Hands-on, structured, and collaborative leadership style.
• Based in or willing to relocate to upstate New York or Houston area; travel required across sites and occasionally overseas.
