Entry Level Accounting Specialist

This role supports project teams with basic accounting and data entry tasks. No prior construction or accounting experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided. If you are organized, good with numbers, and eager to learn new systems, this role offers an excellent opportunity to advance your skills and grow. Responsibilities: Enter project information into the system accurately. Assign and update project codes to maintain organization. Update reports using information from field staff, such as hours worked or materials used. Assist with accounts payable by processing invoices from subcontractors and vendors. Fix coding errors as needed and communicate with subcontractors to obtain missing information. Assist with accounts receivable by preparing billing documents for clients and entering payment information. Ensure billing complies with client contract requirements. Prepare project paperwork including forms like waivers and affidavits. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and accounting staff to keep information accurate. Handle basic data corrections to maintain accurate records. Perform general office and support tasks, including creating simple reports. Maintain good communication, meet deadlines, and follow company procedures. Wear required safety gear when visiting job sites. Essential Skills: Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPS. Experience with invoicing and general ledger management. Strong customer service skills. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Motivated to learn and take initiative. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience in accounting or finance. Experience in construction is a plus but not required. Work Environment: This position is primarily onsite with potential for some flexibility after training. The work setting is quiet, with individual cubicles, and requires comfort working independently in such an environment. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and CFO, who values a focused and diligent approach. The office is located near Lincoln Station light rail in a brand-new facility, and the team is primarily field-based. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Englewood, CO. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
