
Truss Builder
Truss Builders promote our safety mindset while working efficiently to produce quality trusses. They may work solo or as a part of a team. Truss Builders work on piece rate. An ideal Truss Builder will have basic technology knowledge and will be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Duties/Responsibilities: Operates truss press including set up, change overs and clean-up. Build RV trusses, manufactured home trusses, or floor trusses depending on orders and production needs. Interprets job orders assigned. Meets production goals as outlined by truss type. Produces quality trusses as designed in truss print Understands required grade/quality and inspects finished products for quality standards. Works with production management to identify changes to processes and procedures, as appropriate. Understands, observes and promotes all safety policies and procedures. Operates additional equipment related to production. May assist in training and cross training. Reports production accurately through utilized programs. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: Intermediate-Advanced knowledge of the operation of all machinery and equipment used within primary job duty, eg. truss press, up cut saw, bander, finish roller. Basic understanding of technology for the operation of electronics for inventory Ability to read a tape measure Math skills as it relates to lumber Ability to read and interpret truss design plans Physical Demands: Able to consistently lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds 90% of work to be performed in an environment subject weather, noise, and dust Travel Requirements: None Why Clayton?
