Salary Range $15.00 - $18.00 Hourly Description
Under the direction and support of the Head Coach and Assistant Coach, the Counselor assists in the daily operations of the sports camp. The Counselor helps ensure camp activities run smoothly, camp values are upheld, and campers are provided with a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate sports environment. This role supports instruction, supervision, organization, and positive camper experiences throughout the program. Qualifications
Qualifications This position requires entry-level knowledge and understanding of youth development, teamwork, and basic sports fundamentals. The Counselor should demonstrate strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and problem-solving skills, along with patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Experience working with children or in a sports, recreation, or camp setting preferred. High school graduate, or equivalent Completion of required camp orientation and training prior to or during employment. CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Basic Health and Safety Training Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain) Camp Orientation Training Physical Demands The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, running, lifting, and carrying equipment; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; and participation in outdoor activities in varying weather conditions.
