WSDOT is hiring a Property & Acquisition Specialist 4 to support the Southwest Region (SWR). The role manages WSDOT‑owned property, drafts and implements leases, clears encroachments, manages disposal of surplus property, and assists with auctions. The position supports WSDOT’s goal areas of Workforce Development, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Resilience. Responsibilities

Develop surplus and leasing files, review files completed by others. Resolve complex property management issues, including encroachments, airspace, displacee, ground leases, value memos, and disposal of surplus right of way. Recommend actions to the Real Estate Services Manager on leasing and disposal functions. Review and advise Region and HQ staff on property documents necessary to complete transactions. Conduct project inspections of surplus property acquired. Create and maintain electronic files for all property acquired. Qualifications

Knowledge of surplus and leased property management, compliance with laws, policies, and procedures. Ability to resolve complex issues such as encroachments, lease disputes, and property disposals. Experience reviewing and approving transactional documents for accuracy and legal sufficiency. Proficient in conducting property audits and guiding on property management issues. Experience performing property management activities to ensure legal and procedural compliance, maintaining accurate electronic records, coordinating demolition, environmental remediation, and property transfers, and drafting and reviewing deeds and agreements. Knowledge of federal, state, and local property laws and regulations; ability to ensure compliance with policies and legal standards. Ability to communicate property and legal information clearly; experience leading or supporting negotiations, training, and public engagement related to property management matters. Ability to utilize digital tools and systems to manage property data and documentation; experience preparing accurate reports and legal documents. How To Apply
