Role Overview & Responsibilities
Gilead is seeking a
Senior Director, Marketing Strategy and Planning
to champion the launch of our next groundbreaking HIV therapy—a novel, once-weekly, oral combination of lenacapavir and islatravir. In this role, you’ll report directly to the Executive Director, HIV Treatment Marketing ISL-LEN and play a central part in shaping and executing innovative marketing strategies to bring this transformative new treatment for people living with HIV.
Senior Director, Marketing Strategy & Planning
responsibilities include developing a bold launch vision for a novel HIV therapy and gaining buy-in from cross-functional leaders.
Collaborate with internal partners to drive launch alignment and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Support launch and strategic initiatives for ISL-LEN, a novel HIV treatment.
Lead launch planning across functions, including governance standards, coordinating cross-functional planning teams, and ensuring launch timelines are developed, monitored, and on time.
Collaborate with Global ISL/LEN Commercial team and Alliance partner to align US strategy with Global Commercial Strategy and joint commercialization.
Drive Strategic Brand Communications, coordinating with US HIV Treatment team, GCSO, Public Affairs and Alliance partner.
Partner with brand leadership to generate brand analytics and therapeutic insights (market size, product profile, differentiation, competitive environment, market share trends, lifecycle planning) to inform strategic brand direction.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines governing commercial and scientific interactions with healthcare professionals, payers, advocacy and other business partners.
Competencies And Expertise Required
Minimum of 5 years of brand development and marketing experience
Experience with products within a portfolio is a plus
Strong strategic thinking with ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy
Ability to translate market research findings into actionable insights and tactical plans
Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams; work with commercial management, medical affairs, compliance, market research and others
Ability to understand and communicate clinical data and high-level science
Excellence in project management and managing multiple projects/priorities
Ability to lead agencies and external partners on strategic and tactical projects
Financial management skills, including expense budget planning and tracking
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting to Senior Management
Experience in pharmaceutical strategy and planning and/or pharmaceutical consulting
Qualifications and Preferred Experience
Bachelor’s Degree with at least fourteen years of experience OR Master’s Degree with twelve years of experience OR PhD with twelve years of experience
Preferred
Experience in product launch and portfolio management
Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements impacting marketing messaging and materials
Prior experience with advertising, digital, or communications agencies is advantageous
Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this position is: $243,100.00 - $314,600.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
