Summary
Under general supervision; performs highly responsible, specialized work in the daily operation of the Nogales Police Department Public Safety Communications Center Supervision
Supervision Received: Works under the supervision and direction of the Communications Supervisor or designee Supervision Exercised: May exercise supervision over Public Safety Dispatchers in the absence of the Communications Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities

Receives and dispatches 911 and routine calls for service; logs call assignments Prioritizes calls for service and dispatches the appropriate number of agency officials for response Monitors status of units in the field for availability and officer safety Operates police/fire/medical radio and equipment Provide emergency first aid or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) instructions, if required Logs and documents general information; performs data entry into automated systems Enters, modifies, confirms, and clears records including warrants, restraining orders, stalking orders, stolen property, and runaway juveniles updates Conducts local, state and national system searches Regularly queries other computer databases and systems to perform warrant checks, vehicle registration updates, and driver license information Relays various information within the Department and other law enforcement agencies Develops and maintains statistical data Files various documents Performs general office duties as assigned Supports the relationship between the City of Nogales and the general public Maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information Performs other duties as required or assigned Knowledge Of

Education, Training and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Preferred Qualification(s)
Three (3) years of responsible Police Communications or Records experience Spanish Language fluency License and Certification Requirements
Arizona Criminal Justice Information System Terminal A certification Public Safety Operator training program certification Special Requirements
Successful completion of a background investigation and polygraph examination Must be a U.S. Citizen Physical Demands and Working Environment
Work is performed both in an office environment. May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be made as required.
